How I will miss my Blackberry.

I have been “running” AKA driving around Long Island the past few days figuring out what to do about my phone. Ok, fine, I went to one store, and then I called my dad. He took care of it.

He’s much better at handling these somewhat technical things than I am. When I went to Spain this year to visit my dear friend Samantha, he was able to get me a rental Blackberry, which was a big comfort.

This time, I’ll have a few withdrawal symptoms. I’m feeling them already, but I don’t think that has much to do with the Blackberry.

Truth is, I’m a closeted homebody.

What am I saying? It’s kind of obvious.

Freshman year, I went home once a month and told my family how much I can’t stand them every time I went.

Sophomore year, I managed to stay in school most of the fall semester, but went home A LOT second semester. That, however, is understandable given the circumstances my family was dealing with at the time.

While I was on co-op last summer and fall, I was about forty minutes away from my house in Jericho (I was living in a dorm in Brooklyn Heights, which is really a fantastic place), I went home pretty much every weekend.

And now for a real impressive number, I stayed at school for a full SIX weeks, until I went home to visit family members from out of town, went to Spain and visited my friend Marni in St. Louis.

So, in case it isn’t clear, I do enjoy going home.

Which leaves me a bit anxious to travel for six weeks.

Some people approach new experiences with courage and excitement. Me, nervous breakdowns (Stay tuned for that post, it will be worth it)

Whether it was co-op, meeting someone new, starting school, ending school (occasionally), or taking on a new role at school, I’m always a hot mess to start off.

I should cool it.

This post is more on the personal side, so for the next one, I will try and up the intellectuality (I wouldn’t have spelt that right if it weren’t for spell check)

Going to eat dinner with my sister who just got her first job! She’s 17. Cheers for Miss Dory.
